Tested in US homes · Updated November 2026

We test it first. You buy it once.

Every product here spent weeks in a real American kitchen, bedroom or backpack before we wrote a word about it. Every reviewer on this site lives and tests in the US. You get what held up, what broke, and who should skip it.

Our method

How a product earns a spot

The same six steps for a $19 gadget and a $900 appliance. No shortcuts, no first impressions.

We build a shortlist

Best sellers, rising names and the models you ask us about. Usually 12 to 20 candidates.

We buy them like you do

From Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Costco or Home Depot, with our own money, delivered to our testers' homes across the US.

We live with them for weeks

Kids, pets, Midwest winters, humid Southern summers and busy mornings included.

We measure and we read the crowd

Noise, battery, time saved, plus thousands of verified owner reviews.

Woman with dirty-blonde hair in a claw clip pouring a bright green smoothie from a black Vitamix Ascent X2 container into a glass at a cluttered kitchen counter in the early morning, four other blenders lined up against the backsplash behind her
Home & Kitchen

Best blender for green smoothies: 5 timed on frozen fruit and kale for 50 days

Five blenders, 50 days, 213 blends and a tea strainer that doesn't lie. Only one turned frozen mango and raw kale into a drink with zero green flecks in under 50 seconds, every run.

Physiotherapist with a shaved head and a dark blue polo pressing a small white Upright Go S posture sensor between the shoulder blades of a man sitting sideways on a clinic treatment table in the morning, three black posture straps laid out beside them
Health & Wellness

Can you wear a posture corrector all day? We tested 4 for 52 days

Four desk workers, four posture correctors, 52 days and a tape measure against the clinic wall. Only one lasted through almost every 8-hour day and still showed a change after week 4.

Beauty & Care

Do LED face masks work? 6 weeks of photos with CurrentBody, Omnilux, Shark and DRx

Four masks, four faces, one tripod in a spare bedroom. After six weeks of daily sessions, an esthetician judged the photos blind. One mask came out ahead, and it wasn't the cheapest.

Nintendo Switch 2 after 15 months: is the $549 Mario Kart bundle worth it?

I bought the Switch 2 on launch day and it has been on 38 flights and three family holidays since. What it does well, what bugs me, and what a fair holiday price looks like now that it costs more.

Eight Sleep Pod 5 review: 97 hot nights, one couple, and what Pod 6 changes

One of us runs hot, the other sleeps in socks. After 97 summer nights on the Eight Sleep Pod 5, here's what a $3,000 bed cover fixed, what it didn't, and why Pod 6 changes the math.

iPhone 18 Pro vs Pro Max: six days, three flights and which one to buy

Two new iPhones, one jacket pocket, three flights. Our travel tester timed the batteries, tried the new aperture camera and found the one question that decides Pro or Pro Max.

Why trust us

Six rules we don't bend

Whatever the product, whoever makes it.

01

We pay full price

Our test units come from the same US stores you shop at, from Target to Home Depot. No hand-picked samples from a brand's PR team.

02

Weeks, not hours

Almost anything looks good on day one. We keep going until the weak spots show up, usually in week three.

03

The flaws go in print

Every pick gets a cons list. If we can't find a real one, we haven't tested it long enough.

04

Nobody buys a spot

Brands can't pay to rank higher. Our commission is the same at number one or number five.

05

Scored on paper first

Before testing starts we write down what matters and how much each point weighs. Then we score.

06

Reopened when things change

A new model, a price jump or a wave of reader complaints puts a review back on the bench.

Our US team

Meet the people who test

Real people, real homes, real mess. All ten live in the US, from Buffalo to Kansas City, and test every product in their own homes. Here is who wrote the reviews you are reading.
