We set up this site after reading one too many "best of" lists that had clearly been written by someone who had never held the product.
You'll know the feeling. You read three reviews, they all say the same thing in the same words, you buy, and a fortnight later the thing is gathering dust in a cupboard. We'd had enough of it.
So we turned the process round. First we buy the products and use them for weeks. Then we write. If we wouldn't keep it in our own home, it doesn't make the list.
Who does the testing
Our team is a mix of people who are good at spotting what goes wrong: a former appliance repair engineer, a physiotherapist, two parents of very messy toddlers, a frequent flyer who lives out of a cabin bag, and a few others. They test in their own homes and flats in the UK, the US, Germany and Switzerland.
How we stay independent
We earn money through affiliate commission. When you buy through one of our links, the retailer pays us a small fee. You pay the same price. Brands can't pay to be ranked, can't see reviews before they go live and can't ask us to remove criticism.
